🎥 Crooked Whitpain Video Podcast — Episode 14

A GoFundMe organized by LaTina Bedford-Dean currently displays $38,180 from 843 donations raised following the death of Donté Perez Jones. The campaign described support for an independent autopsy, legal counsel, the family, and efforts to honor Donté’s life.

But the public-facing fundraiser does not show how much was ultimately transferred after fees, refunds, or holds; who received the proceeds; when transfers occurred; or an itemized accounting of expenses. Those missing details raise legitimate questions. By themselves, however, they do not establish theft, fraud, concealment, or misuse.

What this episode examines

  • The fundraiser’s stated purposes and its publicly displayed $38,180 total.
  • What the campaign’s updates explain—and what information remains unavailable.
  • Questions about legal counsel, an independent autopsy, and other expenses described by the campaign.
  • What publicly accessible court records do and do not establish.
  • The records and responses that would help donors and the public understand how the proceeds were used.

Why transparency matters

Hundreds of people donated because they wanted to support Donté’s family and the search for answers. A clear accounting would help distinguish documented facts from speculation, answer donors’ reasonable questions, and keep attention focused on the circumstances surrounding Donté’s death.

Crooked Whitpain welcomes a detailed, documented response from LaTina Bedford-Dean or any party with first-hand knowledge of the fundraiser. We will fairly include substantive responses and correct any verified errors.

Watch Video Podcast 14 and review the questions that remain unanswered. Share this story with anyone who donated or may have relevant documentation.

Editor’s note: This episode examines publicly available information and unanswered questions. It does not report a finding that any person committed fraud, theft, concealment, or misuse of funds.
