What about the death of Donte Perez Jones? A black man found hung feet away from the whitpain police department. He IS A VICTIM of this township as well. RIP
Donte Perez Jones was a 35-year-old U.S. Army veteran and father of three from Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania. On June 17, 2022, his body was tragically discovered hanging from playground equipment in Wentz Run Park, located in Whitpain Township, Pennsylvania. Authorities initially ruled his death a suicide, citing no immediate evidence of foul play.
However, Jones’ family and friends have raised serious concerns about this conclusion. They point out that Donte had no known ties to Whitpain Township and question why he would travel nearly an hour from his home to a park in a predominantly white suburb, particularly during Juneteenth weekend—a detail they find especially disturbing given the historical significance of the holiday.
In response, his loved ones have actively pursued further investigation. A GoFundMe campaign was launched to support an independent autopsy and legal representation. Additionally, a petition calling for transparency and oversight was created, reflecting the family’s deep concern about how the case was handled.
To date, the case remains open in the court of public opinion, with many continuing to push for justice and accountability.
