After Quietly Paying Off Police Employees in TWO Secret Settlements (Including a Hush-Money Deal with Chief Ken “Lawless” Lawson Himself in 2026)! The Crooked Blue Wall Comes Tumbling Down! –
After years of relentless exposure by CrookedWhitpain.com, social media, news outlets, multiple federal civil rights lawsuits, unsolved crimes against Black families, documented misconduct, and two taxpayer-funded secret settlements with police employees in 2024 and 2026, Whitpain Township has quietly removed two of its most notorious figures: Police Chief Kenneth “Lawless” Lawson and Detective Sergeant Thomas “Pay to Play” Wittig III.
No press release. No fanfare. No public apology to the victims. Just another Whitpain cover-up — except this time the heat finally forced them out.
But we’re not done. We’ve been tracking every penny, every lawsuit, and every backroom deal straight from the official Board of Supervisors minutes.
For years, CrookedWhitpain.com has been the only outlet exposing the systemic failures, favoritism, discrimination, and outright corruption inside the Whitpain Township Police Department. Chief Lawson and Detective Wittig were the ringleaders:
- The unsolved home invasion and robbery of a Black family in Blue Bell (September 19, 2024) that remains stone-cold despite clear suspects (Brent Bowers and Dr. Douglass George Cassera MD) and eyewitness accounts. Why? Because “Lawless” Lawson and “Pay to Play” Wittig had other priorities — or other incentives.
- Multiple federal civil rights lawsuits directly naming both men — including the discrimination and retaliation case by the mixed-race couple (Testa v. Whitpain), the brutal arrest of a handicapped child and his father by Detective Wittig (Nero v. Whitpain), and the discrimination lawsuit by former Black officer Jamil Van.
- The “Pay to Play” favoritism and selective enforcement scandals surrounding Wittig.
- Chief Lawson’s leadership failures — protecting bad cops while ignoring residents based on race, connections, or who you know.
And here’s the part they really don’t want you to know (straight from the official Supervisor meeting minutes):
Whitpain Township has been quietly writing taxpayer checks to silence its own police employees:
- July 16, 2024 (#14-2024 Board of Supervisors meeting): The Board approved a confidential “settlement and general release agreement” with Police Department employee identified only as Employee No. 1046. Motion by Supervisor Selverian, seconded by Vice Chair Koch. Township Manager Eric Traub openly admitted in the public minutes: “in this Township, we believe it is better to talk and come to a settlement agreement rather than going through extensive litigation with potential personnel matters.” The matter had been discussed in a prior executive session. (Widely believed to be related to the Jamil Van discrimination/retaliation case.)
- January 20, 2026 (#02-2026 Board of Supervisors meeting): Just three months ago, the Board approved yet another “settlement and release agreement” — this time with Police Department employee identified as Employee No. 1064, which was none other than Chief Ken “Lawless” Lawson himself.
Two secret settlements with unnamed police employees in under 19 months — one of them a direct payout to the very Chief they just fired. Amounts and full details deliberately hidden from the public. Millions of your tax dollars funneled into hush-money deals to avoid real accountability for the very misconduct Lawson and Wittig oversaw. And the firings only came now, after the lawsuits kept piling up and CrookedWhitpain.com refused to stop publishing the truth.
Why are they secret? This is taxpayer money. Public funds. Your money. The residents of Whitpain Township have every right to know exactly how much was paid out, what was signed away, and what misconduct these settlements were designed to bury. Instead, the Supervisors hide behind “confidential” labels while the same Board that protected these men still sits in power.
This is not a retirement. This is not a “mutual parting.” This is a firing — forced because the combination of federal lawsuits, victim pressure, public outrage, and nonstop scrutiny finally made their positions untenable.
But let’s be crystal clear: this is only the beginning.
The same Board of Supervisors who protected these men — and approved those two secret police-employee settlements (including the one with Lawson himself) — still sits in power: Scott Badami, Kimberly “Crooked Kim” Koch Klauder, and the rest. Township Manager Eric Traub still runs the show. The culture of cover-ups, selective policing, civil rights violations, and taxpayer-funded hush money didn’t start with Lawson and Wittig… and it won’t end with their removal.
The victims of the Donte Perez Jones case, the unsolved robbery, the mixed-race couple, the handicapped child and father, former officer Jamil Van (Employee #1046?), Chief Lawson’s own 2026 settlement, and every resident denied justice deserve more than two scalps and two secret settlements.
They deserve full transparency, an independent investigation into the entire department, release of the full settlement details (including exact amounts paid with your tax dollars), employee names, and real reform — not more backroom deals.
To the new leadership (whoever you are): Clean house. Release the settlement amounts, full files, and every document. Fire anyone who enabled this. Treat every resident and every officer the same — Black, white, mixed-race, rich or poor.
To the Supervisors and Township Manager: We’re still watching. The remaining lawsuits aren’t going away. The podcast isn’t stopping. CrookedWhitpain.com just passed 2,000,000 views and keeps climbing. The eyes of Pennsylvania — and the nation — are on you.
Justice is slow in Whitpain Township… but the dam is finally cracking.
The two secret police-employee settlements (Employee #1046 in 2024 and the direct payout to Chief Lawson in 2026) prove the township knew exactly how rotten things were — and chose to pay to keep it quiet instead of fixing it. Why the secrecy? Because it’s taxpayer money, and they don’t want you to see where it really went.
Today, two of the worst offenders are gone.
Tomorrow, we keep fighting until the entire crooked system is exposed and reformed.
